MSG and Hidden Sources

One day my son placed a juice box on the kitchen counter and exclaimed that the juice gave him a headache. This spurred me to investigate which ingredient could be the cause. I found an interesting list of ingredients, which contained enough MSG to cause a reaction in certain people. It turned out that the juice contained natural flavors, which often contain MSG. After this discovery, I switched to real apple or grape juice because these juices did not contain ingredients that affected my son.

Preventing migraines in the first place: My son suffers debilitating migraines complete with auras, vomiting, and unbearable pain. We have been successful in the following strict regimen: First avoid all the common triggers. Then we take supplements that have worked wonders. A combination of alfalfa tablets, Migrelief, Omega3 and lobelia drops twice a day plus getting enough sleep and staying n schedule. After about 90 days of this, we can honestly say that migraines are extremely rare for him now. Hope this helps others to consider safe, herbal preventatives.
